Is our coffee packaging recyclable?

Our coffee bags are plastic lined. Coffee bags are usually made from several layers of different types of material. These usually include plastic, foil and paper. As they are mixed materials they cannot be recycled. Unfortunately, paper bags do not keep the coffee airtight and fresh so it is a compromise between finding the right packaging to keep the product fresh and reducing the impact on the environment.

The UK currently has a fairly poor recycling rate of plastics and because the paper cannot be separated from the foil in the packaging, it will not be accepted as recyclable. 

However, we are very aware of how important this is and will be working on bringing you recyclable packaging in the near future.
